Catholic University Lockdown: Shelter in place, shooting near the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC
Catholic University Lockdown Investigations: D.C. police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Northwest on Monday night. According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), a shooting occurred in the 400 block of Michigan Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. Officers discovered a man who had been shot.
The individual was not conscious or breathing, therefore a Homicide Unit was sent to the site. The shooting occurred just streets away from the Catholic University of America. Around 8:41 p.m., the institution sent a warning to its students to shelter in place, and the campus has been under lockdown since. According to law enforcement agencies, this is not an active shooter incident and no further threat is suspected.
