Katie Kirk Kelowna BC Real Estate Broker Death: The Canadian Real Estate world is mourning a renowned broker and lover of Arts who lost her battle with depression. Kelowna BC resident and Real Estate Broker Kathryyn “Katie” Amber Kirk passed away by suicide last week Thursday.
A message from Katie’s family reads; ” Kirk, Kathryn Amber 19779-2024. It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our precious Kathryyn “Katie” Amber Kirk on Thursday, July 25th, 2024 at the age of 44.
Who Was Katie Kirk?
Katie Kirk was a resident of Kelowna, British Columbia, and originally from Barrie, Ontario. She graduated from Queen’s University and Eastview Secondary School. Katie owned the True North + Co. She also worked as a Design Consultant at Urban Closets. Katie was a lover of fashion, lashes, and beauty. She was predeceased by her two loving dogs Willow and Mackie. She was the Chief Magnet-Eyes-ing Officer at Love Beam Lash Co.
Family and friends described Katie as a rare blessing to the world. ” I wanted nothing more for this to be untrue. Katie, you were an absolute blessing in this world. You loved fierce laughed hard and you were an absolute giver I am reminded of this sentiment in this obituary, a heartbroken friend wrote.
A call to check up on those happy people in our circle has been raised by Michelle Dupuis, following Katie’s death. “Let us all be reminded by Katie’s passing to connect and check in on each other regularly, especially those who appear to have it all together. The family will take the time needed to grieve this loss privately.”

She was such a unique combination of smarts, kindness, and vulnerability all in one. When you would walk past her office it was hard not to talk with her because she was so engaging… and her marketing sense was off the charts. I got some good stuff from her.
As someone who is married to a strong woman I appreciated Katie for her know-how but also worried for her because she was in a “man’s world” in our industry where I imagine it wasn’t easy. She didn’t cross paths with another female broker I had, Deborah Moore but I remember telling her a few years back what a team they would make and that I would have followed them anywhere, Blake wrote.
