Shane Barton Disappearance
Police are looking for new information on the unsolved disappearance of a Washington man who was last seen with family in Rochester. According to “Murder in the Rain” Podcast Co-Host Alisha Holland, 54-year-old Shane Barton was spending time with family on March 8, 2023, when he was last seen at 8:30 p.m. when his daughter waved to him out of a window as he proceeded to an RV on the property to sleep in.
“The next morning, Shane’s wife went about her day, driving the kids to school, getting coffee, and falling back asleep. When she awoke about 11:30 a.m. on the ninth, she walked to the RV and found that the coffee Shane made for her every morning was there, along with ice still floating in it, indicating that it had been prepared quite recently,” Holland explained.
According to Holland, Barton’s wallet, phone, Apple Watch, and “personal weapon” that he always carried were still in the RV. According to Holland, search crews were unable to locate Barton despite conducting ground and air searches. Barton was described as a Caucasian man at five feet eight inches tall with short brown hair and brown eyes who frequently wears a baseball cap.
Anyone with information about the case should contact the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. Barton’s wife has asked anybody who lives near Little Rock Road, Sargent Road, 183rd, and Case Road to examine their property.
