Stockport Suicide: Personal incident on M60, A6 Wellington Road North, near Stockport train station also closed

Stockport Suicide Investigations: Emergency services swarmed Stockport this afternoon (Thursday) following two police encounters. All trains between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport are currently halted due to complaints of ‘trespassers’ on the line. Emergency personnel are on the site of the ongoing conflict between the stations.

According to witnesses, police have taped off the A6 Wellington Road North, near Stockport train station. The route is now closed, according to the Bee Network. The M60 is also stopped in both directions following a crash near Portwood Roundabout, causing considerable delays. Law enforcement is investigating the death as a suicide.

Travel service Inrix has said: “M60 in both directions blocked, long delays due to police incident between J27 A6188 Tiviot Way (Portwood Roundabout) and J1 A5145 Travis Brow (Stockport Pyramid).”
