Terry Hunter played American Football during his high school years, he eventually accelerated his hard work and resilience to be recognized as a star footballer at East Wake H.S. and was on North Carolina’s football team in 2005. Tyler Johnson, a friend of the deceased wrote: I want to send my condolences out to the friends and family of Terry Hunter who we unfortunately lost today. Big Terry was just that, Big. A big man with an even bigger heart. I’ll never forget this story my brother Kevin (may he also rest) told me about the first time he met Terry. Kevin was a few years older than us and was a star football player at East Wake High before we were even there. One afternoon he went with Coach Williams to East Wake Middle to scout the upcoming players.
As they were walking down the hall, Kevin saw this faculty member and asked them for some information. Turns out that the faculty member was middle school Terry and my brother had mistaken him for a teacher. He always told me that he had never met another dude in middle school that big and “I swear to God Tyler, I thought he was a teacher or something. He was a BIG boy!” As you can see by this picture I pulled from his FB, Terry’s smile could light up a room, and his personality, laugh, and presence could just fill it up. We lost a good one today. Rest easy, my friend.
