Clifton Johnson Lubbock TX Death: A 38-year-old man has died after being shot by his girlfriend’s estranged husband on Monday. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Clifton Lee Johnson passed away following a deadly domestic-related shooting that happened at 20510 Cypress Plaza Pkwy (NW Harris County), near Tuckerton and Fry Road.
Clifton Johnson was a native of Lubbock, Texas. He lived in Randal Park, Orlando, Florida. He was an MC, Comedian, and a graduate of Full Sail University and Eastern New Mexico University. According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, of HCSO, Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. The suspect has been located and charged with capital murder.
What Happened To Clifton Johnson?
Investigators learned a woman lived in the apartment and had moved there to get away from her estranged husband. While the woman was inside her apartment with a male friend, the suspect (her estranged husband) arrived and began attempting to break in by kicking in the door and using a screwdriver.
He was able to make entry, armed with a handgun. The suspect found the male friend hiding. An argument along with an argument ensued and concluded with the suspect allegedly shooting the complainant. The suspect, identified as Kerry Cunningham, was arrested and charged with Capital Murder. Law enforcement agencies did not confirm if the woman involved was injured in the incident.
Cunningham was booked in the Harris County Jail. The victim was identified as Clifton Lee Johnson (38). It was learned he had just arrived in Houston from Florida.
