The Brass Rail Shooting: 1 killed, 5 hurt, active shooter at Morrill’s Corner in Portland, Maine
The Brass Rail Shooting Investigations: According to the Portland Police Department, many persons were shot along Forest Avenue on Tuesday night, and at least three of them were taken to hospitals. Multiple witnesses in the neighborhood reported hearing a bunch of loud bangs about 8:45 p.m.
There is a significant police presence on Forest Avenue. Roads are closed from Bell Street to Morrills Corner. According to police, the roads will likely be stopped for some time while they work on the area throughout the night. At this point, no arrests have been made, and authorities are advising the public to exercise extreme caution Tuesday night. According to accounts, one person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting at Morrill’s Coner tonight.
“Yeah, I would probably shelter in place in the immediate area,” We’ve got several police here, including some out-of-town agencies, so I think we’re fairly safe in the immediate area. I don’t know if someone floods on foot they could be somewhere out there making their way through neighborhoods right now, so I would just use a high level of caution,” Portland Police Major Robert Martin said.
Vehicles are being advised to avoid this area of Forest Avenue as police collect evidence on the site. Officers say that they don’t expect to have an update until early Wednesday morning.
